Print out the word puzzle from Artie Knapp's story Frani and the Little Red Fox -- you can choose between an easy puzzle for toddlers and a more challenging one for older children and adults.
Encourage children to think and fill in the letters. I think crosswords are a great way to expand and practice vocabulary and reinforce the themes you're working on.

Children sound out the words in the word list and then match them to the picture

kids use picture clues to find words from the puzzle
Children print the words in the clues in the picture on the puzzle.
Word Hints (Normal) Puzzle with word list:
For children from 1st to 4th grade
children use the written clues and word list to find where the words go in the puzzle.
The children have the words in the word list print on the puzzle.
Word Hints (Normal) Crossword (no word list):
Designed for 3rd grade and above
children use written clues to solve the puzzle
The children write the words on the puzzle.
